Below is a link to the proposed new Kankakee County Solid Waste Plan. It
will be voted on by the full County Board in May or June. It is
currently being considered by the PZA committee with a special meeting which
will take place Friday April 27 at 9:00 AM. The meeting is at the
County building in the fourth floor meeting room. The County building is
located at the corner of Schuyler & Court Street in downtown Kankakee.

There you will find the County intends to look for another site in the
County for a garbage dump.
They say they will perform an internal review of possible sites for a
new County garbage dump. (Sounds like more secret meetings with no
public input, just like the last time.) They also say they have no interest
in alternative technologies to garbage dumps. They also seem to think they
have full control over transfer stations no matter who sites them or where
they are located.
