Family Of Lobbyist Hired By The City Of Kankakee Is A Big Donor To Mayor Green
On Monday October 15, the City of Kankakee hired Manteno native Michael D. Smith of Cornerstone Public Affairs at $15,000 per month plus expenses to lobby in Washington, D.C. on behalf of the City. The annual cost would be around $200,000. The Daily Journal reports that Mr. Smith was part of a Federal probe of Jack Abramoff, the convicted felon at the center of a scandal that shook Washington, D.C..
OUTRAGE has search the Illinois State Board Election web site for donations to Mayor Green's campaign fund during the last election for mayor. Please see below. Highlighted in red is the Smith family donations. Could this expensive deal funded by City of Kankakee taxpayers be a political pay back by Mayor Green before he leaves office?
