OUTRAGE has learned about a battle raging within the Kankakee County Democratic Central Committee over appointing former Bourbonnais Township Park District board member Nick Allen to fill the 79th District seat now held by Democrat State Representative Lisa Dugan before her term expires at the end of 2012. Lisa Dugan has announce she will not seek reelection in 2012. Apparently party leaders are not seeking input from party regulars in the selection of who will replace Dugan even though several party regulars have expressed interest in the appointment.
As a Bourbonnais Township Park District board member, Allen always voted to tax and spend at maximum levels such as the purchase of the failed baseball park on Career Center Rd. See the Park District property tax levy history, etc. here.
Kankakee County Board member Glenn Nixon has announced he will be a Republican candidate in the 2012 election for the 79th District seat. Because of their disagreement with the Kankakee County Democratic Central Committee, OUTRAGE has learned some local well known Democrats are supporting Nixon.
