Proposed 236 Acre, 200 feet high Chicago Regional Garbage Dump.
December 30, 2008
Listen to Kankakee County Sheriff Tim Bukowski's pro Fred Barbara and Tom Volini garbage dump comments during the December, 2008 Criminal Justice Committee Meeting. Pictures were added to the audio recording. The audio recording was obtained from the county through a Freedom of Information request. Normally we video tape these meetings but our volunteer was unable to attend so we had to do a Freedom of Information request to get the county's audio recording.

Local union leaders are lobbing hard to get county board members
to vote No to appealing the second Barbara/Volini dump application to the
Illinois Supreme Court. They did the same thing when it
came time for the board to decided on whether to appeal the first Barbara/Volini
dump application to the Illinois Supreme Court. The county did appeal and they
won!
This time the union is trying to sweet talk the board. Please see the pictures
below. They are pictures of a portion of the 28, 24 oz. boxes of Gayety candy
delivered to the county board members mail boxes at the county administration
building. According to the county board members
OUTRAGE has talked to, the union has
never done this before nor has anyone else.
Each box is labeled Season's Greetings from I.U.O.E. Local 150. They cost
$45.75 each according to the Gayety candy web site. Here is the link.
