Waste Management
has announced it is getting into the garbage-to-energy
business.
While other companies (
example:
www.powersenergyofamerica.com/index2.html.) are
far ahead of Waste Management when it comes to garbage-to-energy, this
announcement is more proof garbage dumps are a thing of the past. Garbage is too
valuable as an energy source to dump into a 236 acre, 200 feet high mountain in
a flood prone area near the Kankakee river or anywhere else. Mayor Epstein and
Sheriff Bukowski, stop pushing the dump and instead work to bring our
community into the twenty first century way of dealing with garbage. It
will mean more good paying jobs and more money for local government then any
giant dump can provide without risking the Kankakee river and our drinking water
aquifer.
